Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security when signing in to websites or apps. When 2FA is enabled, you sign in with your username and password, then provide an additional form of authentication that only you know or have access to. This helps ensure that only you can access your account, even if someone else knows your password.

Reset Two-Factor

If you cannot log in because you cannot locate your verification code, you have several options available to successfully log in.

Check Your Password Manager

When turning on 2FA you are required to use an authenticator app such as Apple Passwords which sync your passwords and verification codes.

Open your password manager on the new device or the device you set up 2FA originally, and search for Daylite. Locate the verification code, sometimes known as a one time password, and type in the verification code.

Use Your Recovery Codes

When turning on 2FA you are given 5 recovery codes which can be used in an emergency and you cannot use a password manager to locate the verification code. Locate where you securely stored these recovery codes and use one of the codes.

Note ℹ️

Recovery codes cannot be reused. If you need a recovery code again, choose another from the list of five.

Generate New Recovery Codes or Disable 2FA From Another Device

If you cannot locate your verification code from your password manager and cannot locate your recovery codes, you can generate new recovery codes or disable 2FA from a device that is already logged into Daylite by following the steps below:

  1. Open Daylite > Settings Account > Manage Account.
  2. Locate Two-Factor Authentication and choose to either Generate New Recovery Codes or Disable

When you generate new recovery codes, you receive five new codes that you can use to log in. This also lets you reconfigure 2FA on your device and add the account to your password manager. Your previous recovery codes are disabled.

If you disable 2FA, it’s turned off on all devices, so you can log in without a verification code. While this makes logging in easier, it also reduces your account’s security.

If you followed the steps above and you still are not able to reset 2FA contact support.
